Applies to Opia 26.8.1

Opia 26.8.1 provides an offline Windows management console and background Agent for Cisco IOS and IOS-XE network operations.

Highlights

  • Guided installation that selects and provisions the first Product Administrator.
  • Offline, machine-bound signed licensing with Managed Network Unit capacity.
  • Secure Agent-owned credential storage for new installations.
  • Device and credential management with import preview and SSH host-key review.
  • Manual and scheduled configuration backups with history and differences.
  • Expanded device fingerprinting and inventory for interfaces, VLANs, port channels, routing, neighbours, endpoints, HSRP and STP where supported.
  • Evidence-based topology with observed and inferred relationships, parallel links, port channels, role inference, HSRP and STP presentation.
  • Vector topology PDF export with A3/A4, Standard/Technical, inferred-link and Confidential options.
  • Manual and scheduled activities through the background Agent.
  • Operations with Activity Runs for execution, progress, results and history, including Needs Review, and Action Queue for issue triage and follow-up.
  • Dashboard summaries for Agent, licensing, devices, backups, fingerprints and issues.
  • Diagnostic and Enhanced Reproduction support bundles.
  • Self-contained Windows x64 application, MSI and offline setup package with bundled offline documentation.

Upgrade behaviour

A forward major upgrade detects the existing product, preserves Product Administrator authority and retained customer state, and skips fresh-install provisioning. Older packages and different packages using the same version are blocked. Always validate the exact predecessor package in staging before production rollout.

Installer maintenance

Installation components have been updated while preserving the supported installation and upgrade workflow. Package names, per-machine scope, guided Product Administrator selection, silent deployment properties, service identity, logging and offline behaviour are unchanged. No change to existing Opia install commands is required.

SSH security maintenance

The SSH connectivity component has been updated to the current supported release. Existing device login, host-key verification and Cisco collection workflows remain unchanged. Exact third-party component versions and attribution are listed in Third-party Notices.

Current limitations

  • Device command availability varies by Cisco platform, release, enabled feature and privilege.
  • Topology inference requires operator review and is not equivalent to directly observed CDP/LLDP evidence.
  • Activation is designed for offline request/import rather than internet-based activation.
  • Device collection in this release targets supported Cisco IOS and IOS-XE platforms.
